What is that? It looks like a cheesy 70's horror flick sea monster.
Locally we call them ribbon fish I believe the proper name is a cutlass fish. The get well over 3 ft long. They make great bait for king's. And cobia.
You make a long stinger r hook rig on wire leader. 1/4 ounce jug head to start then every 4 to 6 inches a stinger...all down the body. You slow/ bump troll it...or drift it back suspended when chumming if anchored.
I got it in the cast net while throwing for pogies. We got a few dozen but needed about 25 gallons worth to bring n Chum. They just weren't here. All the rain/ freash water has moved them north or south. We travelled probably 20 miles south searching for them. Guess we should of went north...lolo It was one of them days
