This dude is going through some kind of mental breakdown. Reminds me a little bit of Howard Hughes. Not sure what he's thinking telling the NYT that " for me personally, the worst is yet to come". WTF does he think a statement like that will do to tesla? If i was a shareholder i'd be pissed. He's a fucken genius but he needs to take a step back for awhile IMO. He's going to drag tesla into the ground at this rate.

there's no doubt he an absolute genius. but the fact that he can't stop himself from these tweets with full knowledge that it will drag down tesla and hurt the shareholders tells me all i need to know. his strong suit is coming up with amazing ideas and pushing those ideas forward into a working product. but running the business side of things once it's been established is not something he seems to handle well.

I'm watching CNBC right now and as expected he is getting blasted. You can't act like this when you have share holders that depend on you. Guy is losing his mind.

Tesla Tumbles On Reports Of DoJ Criminal Probe

Bloomberg reports that Tesla is under investigation by the Justice Department over public statements made by the company and Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk, according to two people familiar with the matter. The criminal probe is running alongside a previously reported civil inquiry by securities regulators.

Federal prosecutors opened a fraud investigation after Musk tweeted last month that he was contemplating taking Tesla private and had “funding secured” for the deal, said the people, who were granted anonymity to discuss a confidential criminal probe. The tweet initially sent the company’s shares higher.

The investigation by the U.S. attorney’s office in the Northern District of California follows a subpoena issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission seeking information from the maker of electric cars about Musk’s plans to go private, which he has since abandoned.

The reaction in the stock price was swift...plunging 6%.
