Burn. You know me so well.

I stay in touch with around 50 or so vets from the Vets Club I was in during college and all but 2 of my closest friends are vets.

Its probably our different geographic locations. I live in a college town where the university is the main employer. You are either working at the university or hospital. There are two small factories and a bunch of farms. Most of my friends work at the university and are professionals, administrators or professors, all of whom typically skew liberal.

Chad said I don't know many vets, I was telling him I do. Quite a few are Libertarian, some Democrat, some Republicans. I don't know the political ideology of all of them. 50 or so is around how many I stay in touch with on facebook. There are only a few I still travel to visit and call on the phone. My best friend and a several good friends are vets, I only have a couple good friends that are not vets.

Calls to Boycott Nike Over Colin Kaepernick Aren’t Packing Much of a Punch

                  https://www.barrons.com/articles/nik...of2&yptr=yahoo

Calls to boycott Nike Inc.over its recent ad featuring quarterback Colin Kaepernick may not have much impact on the company, if social media data is any indication.

A look at Twittermentions of boycotting Nike shortly after the ad came out “doesn’t support a strong negative call against Nike,” argued TickerTags analysts Mark Bachman and Daria Woods in a recent report.

The TickerTags analysts have tracked social chatter around other prominent boycotts over the past few years, and the data they’re seeing on Nike doesn’t strike them as cause for concern, especially when benchmarked against two recent boycotts of Starbucks Inc.
Read more: Nike Knows Exactly What It’s Doing With Colin Kaepernick

Folks threatened to boycott Starbucks in 2017 after the company pledged to hire refugees and again in 2018 after two African-American men were arrested for using the bathroom at a Starbucks location. The first boycott generated more buzz, but neither ended up having a real impact on the company’s financials.

Woods told MarketWatch that mentions of Nike boycotts following the ad remained “significantly lower” than mentions of Starbucks boycotts after the 2017 refugee pledge. During the first day of the campaign, mentions of boycotting Nike were lower than mentions of boycotting Starbucks after the racial-bias incident. They were about equal on the second day.

The frequency of mentions is subsiding, Woods added. “We have found boycott mention frequency levels and duration to be more indicative of repercussions than sentiment,” she wrote in her report.

Nike was smart here from a money perspective. It's not conservatives who are their target audience. It's not conservatives buying new Jordans every 6 months. I called this one.
