Florida Panhandle is about to be wiped off the map. This thing is a monster. The panhandle itself has never been hit directly with a Cat 4.

yea just talked to a life long Army buddy of mine. His house is across the street from the bay in Panama city, hes pretty sure hes gonna loose everything. they expect the surge to be at his roof of his house. sad shit..

doing ok here on the coast.. windy a few trees down loss of power. mid GA is getting slammed pretty good though. Panama city got devastated..holy fuck. Still haven't heard from sis in law who (stuck it out) Dumb fucking move..all she had to do was drive here.. nothing from my buddy, I'm pretty sure based on where his house is..its probably fucked to say the least. I hope I'm wrong.

I lost at least 5 trees on my property north of Atlanta, Georgia from the remains of Hurricane Opal in October of 1995. Opal hit the coast near where Micheal did, but Opal had weakened to a Category 3 hurricane when it made landfall. That was a very scary night. No electricity and listening to trees falling through the night wondering if one was going to hit the house.
