Even if you set aside the total callous insensitivity of the statement, threatening to cut off fundig when people are dead and the survivors are picking up the pieces, the guy is factually incorrect.

It is HIS administration that has cut more than $1.5B from the USFS budget, affecting their ability to manage federal forests. Moreover, the SoCal fires are in chapparal brush habitat. These are brush fires, not the pine and fir forests that he is probably imagining. You don't "manage" chapparal.

He should just shut the fuck up and just ask how can we help.
