Computer Question

Have windows XP...does anyone know the function how to stop stuff from loading up when you start the computer..Im talking about the little menu on the bottom right..i guess its kinda the quickstart stuff...makes my comp start slower..and theres some programs in there that i never use...and i forgot the command to get them out..thanks..peace..bran

go yo the startup folder and delete them
