  • How do u find time to eat? where do u work?

I was at work today (manager at Lowe's) and on my way to lunch got to thinking: I have been lifting for a couple years now, and have been trying to put on some weight....and I eat everything. I mean everything. Problem is that I eat alot, but not very often. I would like to eat at least 6 good meals a day. I don't, eat 3 and drink the others. Where do u all find time to consume the meals that u do?? and what can someone like myself, who works about 60hrs a week, do to help w/ my diet?

I mean sometimes I (today for example) I had to hurry up and go get fast food, because I had to eat quick. Two big mac value meals later and a dbl cheeseburger, I'm off to work.

Oh BTW I'm 23, 5-10" and a hardgainer by far.

First of all, all that Mcdonalds and good for you and your heart. You should pack your lunch. I know you have a desk, why don't you keep a tub of protein and protein bars at your desk. If you have a big office by a mini fridge and keep food in there.

I know it's not good for me, and to be honest I don't eat it ALL the time, but I do eat fast food often. As far as packing my lunch, I do occasionaly and I also go home for lunch very often. I do have a tub of protein at my desk w/ some detour bars as well. sorry no fridge in the office, but there is one in the breakroom. I just don't get the time to go to the back and eat whenever I want that's all. Just curious how everyone makes time for food.

I work construction running heavy equipment and have an entire crew that works with and around what I do. But I Still stop every three hours to eat a meal that I pack in a lunch box, A big one. I've been with the same company long enough most of them know my eating habits and don't mind my stopping. If they did I just show them that I can really slow production down more if they piss me off. It only takes 5 or 10 minutes to munch one down. You just have to make the time.

One really easy way to have your own stash of fast food in the fridge at work is to keep a ziploc baggie of meatballs in the fridge, they can be made of turkey or beef, just boiled in some chicken or beef stock. It can't take more than 3 minutes to go in there, grab a couple of meatballs and eat them quickly. You can even keep a few in a smaller sandwich baggie at your desk to munch on through out the day. You can make the meatballs in small bite size portions so you just pop one into your mouth.

I usually prepare a weeks worth of protein on Saturday or Sunday when I'm home so we always have it on hand. Meatloafs, meatballs, chicken/turkey saussages & grilled chicken tenders and burgers. I store them in big ziploc baggies and just grab a few when I'm heading out the door to work. I eat them when I'm driving if I don't get breakfast in before I leave the house. They can sit at room temp for a few hours and won't go bad as long as they're fully cooked. We also keep cans or pouches of tuna/chicken/salmon in the office for when we're rushed and don't bring something from home. We also buy bottled water by the case and keep it in the office.

I work at a University and have a mini fridge in my office and keep protein bars and powder stashed in my desk. I'm lucky that with my job it is usually easy to eat every 2 - 3 hours. BSH

I keep a cooler at my desk and just reach in and grab something. Whenever I need to. Must every in my office knows how I eat so it's not a big suprise If I walk in to a meeting with a shake a plate full of food.

Desk jockey here too, cubicle, enclosed in a a/c computer room with security lockdown only computer personnel can enter so it keeps the boss out. I have a fridge, and time to eat on time and everything. But the main problems are just now getting to start planning for meals again..... Boy do I get tired doing that.
