Bragging on myself today, hey if I don't do it who else would, j/k

Some days are just wonderful, that simple.

I gave a lunch time speech to a group of 50 people today, written by yours truly. I gave a speech about how to give a speech, and I did it kind of like when you see one of those movies about making movies. First gave a speech about leadership and then did an in depth analysis of it. ( original also )

Long story short, I practiced all week and smoked, even hit the time line right on the mark.

I am proud of me.

Thansk JD, oh man, almost forgot best part, the ex called me last minute yesterday, hey let''s meet up, had dinner and 3 bottles of wine, man was I hung this am, did manage to put in the cardio and sweat some of the crap out, yet, didn't feel right till about 11 am, it was a little touch and go for awhile.

And yeah, I wasn't going to have any drinks, yeah right.

"The Two Sides Of Life"

Thanks all for the kind words.

For the weekend I ate like a bonafide pig, and spent my life on the couch watching every minute of football, piggishness which was okay cause I had been great through the holidays and put in some two a days last week so I was ultra lean, so now back to the clean living.

Anyways Monday had to pick up my mom to take her to the doctors in Ft. Worth for a check up on her Alzheimer's that was diagnosed in June.

I'm a half hour from her and she's an hour and a half from the fort so it was a long driving day for me.

Anyways, the only issue right now is my mother is in denial she has alzheimers, which is okay, who would want such a diagnosis.

She finally got a grip on her vino sipping, she's retired and likes to slam back a few, ie, several starting in the afternoon, this has gotten worse as years have gone on and with detioration in brain tissue, ie the Alzheimers her short term memory was getting whacked horribly.

She really cut down way down starting a month ago and the turn around has been amazing.

Anyways cause I was running late I honked when I pulled up. We had a great conversation on the drive and all was great at the doctors.

So, I'm feeling good cause good old mom is acting like good old mom, a sweet caring kind woman if there ever was one.

The nurse wants to give her a b12 shot, well, she doesnt want one, yet finally get her too take one. My mom insisted she had just had one, of course though she couldn't remember when.

The nurse that gave the shot was different than nurse that checked her vitals when we got there.

After my mom was all done and I'm at the front desk setting up the next appointment my mom walks up to me and points down the hall to the two nurses who are talking to one another and here's what my mother says, "I over heard them talking. The one nurse told the other one she had already given me a b12 shot, see I told you I had one, I got two."

I was like, "Mom, I was with you the whole time, you only had one."

She said something about it again and I let it pass.

And then when we got home I walked in too her house. She had papers, like bills and brokerage statements and general mail spread all over the house, on the dining room table, kitchen table, counter tops, coffee table, and on the gosh darn stove.

She had started four five years ago with filling up the dining room table, and it had virtually stayed their for years, sometimes I even cleaned it up and it stayed that way for a month.

The fact the it was like a little storm had hit the house made my heart sank. Sometimes we all try and kid ourselves and then when the reality hits, it is quite emotional.

Otherwise the house was spotless and my mother was perfect all day, she's even walking three times a day, whoooeee.

I think the medicine makes her kind of speedy so she has to do something, which is fine by me.

All in all it was a fun day with mom, hope there are more.
