  • non-infected ingrown hairs?

I have some of these like black dots on my legs. It's hair that didn't seem to push through the most outer layer of skin. I can pick at them and the skin comes off revealing a hair. It's not like stuble hair either, it's a hair that has some length to it, but is all curled up. Anyone know what I'm talking about and anything I can do to reduce the from happening?

I get them a lot too. Try to use a single blade razor and don't shave against the grain or make too many passes. It's not as smooth, but it might help with ingrown hairs and skin irritation. Also, use a good shaving lotion. And as gay as it sounds, I've had better experiences using my fiancee's razor and gel. I think they make chick shit with higher quality because they're more likely to complain (no offense to any of the females on board here, but it's probably true).

I have heard it can come from shaving in a certain direction and then the hair growing in that direction, but since you don't shave, I wouldn't know how to prevent it. I would think that's what you would want to have though since it makes you less hairy. I heard laser hair removal causes the hair to become ingrown and that's really the only way to keep hair from gowing out too much.

I've never heard of that happenning. Sorry.

Since you're not shaving the area then you probably just need to exfolliate your skin. Pick up a loofah sponge and go over your skin with a mild soap once a week in a hot shower to help keep the pores open and unclogged.

As a former college baseball player i used to have this problem all the time with the hairs on my quads and upper thighs. It came from wearing compression garments (like under armor)...or anything that doesn't allow your skin to breath well. If you wear anything like this, it could very well be the culprit

Hmm, I wear boxer briefs when ever I work out.

I have them too. Not really sure what can be done about them though. Since they don't bother me and are barely noticeable, I really don't worry about them. Try what Puddle's suggested and report back, if you would. I'd like to know how it works out.

Yea they don't bother me really either. I use to use a loofa and srubbing bodywash everytime I took a shower. Still had the same issue. Oh well, if it's not something simple I won't end up doing it anyways :)
