I was wondering if its true that pain meds like advil and tylenol and work agasinst your gains in the gym.I take Ibuprofen for headaches with this get in the way of my muscle growth? If so is there any other pain meds that don't interfere wioth muscle growth?

Your talking about non steroidal anti inflammatories.

I have seen some talk if you were to take ibuprofen before a workout that it can interfere with the inflammatory response of the body to weight training. that is part of what makes muscle grow. i dont know how great the science on that is though.

i would say, you might not want to take it after a workout but if you have headache that night, i dont see a problem with it.

that question is really not something that anyone can answer. it would all be speculation. you really shouldn't even be worried about it. its like worrying about the type of oxygen your breathing and how pure it is. work out hard, eat right, rest, and if you have pain, take an Advil.

ya bro, if you worry about every little thing, you will never get anywhere. i remember seing something on the news about 4 years ago that said, "brushing your teeth may cause cancer of the mouth," LMAO.

for every good thing we do there is 10 problems with it. :)

i just saw this post, I know its kind of old, but I wouldn't take tylenol, or any acetaminophen at all if you use AAS. acetaminophen is harsh on your liver. so stick with advil if anything

really? but that should only be a problem if I'm taking an oral steroid though right? I'm currently running Sustanon @ 500 mgs per week.

i would say overall acetaminophen is a more harsh drug then ibuprofin.

i'd stay away from acetaminophen when on anything. it can cause irreversible liver damage in rare cases. but it always taxes the liver. stick to advil

How often are you getting headaches? This may be something you want to talk to your doctor about.

Well I sometimes get headaches but they are in the back of my neck area I believe they are tension headaches. The medicine I'm taking now requires me to stay extra hydrated cuase it drys you out but when I wakeup in the morning I haven't been drinking water for 6-8 hours so I get a nasty headache and I have to take something drinking a big glass of water doesn't help. The pharmacist told me I have to drink alot of water and not to take ibupofren with the meds.So I was taking acetaminophen.
