    Discuss;

    extinction of chiropratic: subluxation construct
strength/conditioning athletes and bodybuilders widely use chiropractors for varied reasons including spinal 'adjustments' for 'subluxations.' we even see posts on this site that ellude to this and recommendations.

adjustments are commonly performed with the determination of some chiropratic or osteopathic subluxation of the vertebrae. historically, assumptions included that these subluxations caused neurological impairments and other organ dysfunciton systems wide. unfortunately, no evidence suggests these accounts and that chiropratic subluxations cause diseases.

the following paper illustrates much of the lack of validity in a subluxation contruct. the conclusions should inform consumers and provide concerns on whether treatment of subluxation even exists.

if it doesnt exist, why treat it?

my dad had horrible back problems swears by one chiropractor calls the rest crooks - i think that its simple - about 15 years ago we started playing basketball , he started running , i found weight room - long story short my dads healthier these days than I am lmao - I think a healthy lifestyle/decently built back for weight would cut the rate of chiropractors use drastically.

Mind you I've had multiple run ins in the last years with motorcycle and car accidents , including last month! I've been told and recommended to chiropractors - I've been there and up and down those roads I think that chiros are a utter CROCK of shit. Deep tissue massage out knots and get on with the day.

                listen newbies

                YouTube - Malter Chiropractic Center

This really isnt the forum to debate the efficacy of Chiropractic. PLease inform yourselves and ask the question. What makes your muscles grow, your heart beat, lunges breath? Do you tell your body to digest your food? or what Ph your stomach should be. NO! but your brain and CNS does. There is a reason it is the largest and most successful drug free form healthcare. It works. There is a reason thousands of wanna be muscle heads come on this forum to ask you pontifs about drugs and lifting, b/c that is where your noses have been.

Also look up "The Windsor Autopsy's" and see what happens when you dont take care of your NS.

the last two are only controlled by the autonomic(automatic) nervous system.

                    Chiropractic is Scientific
                    How do you define “scientific?”

                    Chiropractic is quite scientific.

It's a scientific fact that your nervous system controls everything.

If you define it as the systematic pursuit of knowledge involving the recognition of a problem, the collection of data through observation and experiment and then testing the resulting hypotheses, then today’s chiropractic is quite scientific. Because it's based on the scientific fact that the nervous system controls and regulates virtually every cell, tissue, organ and system of the body.
Don't be misled by the "low-tech" nature of chiropractic adjustments! There are a growing number of studies that suggest the chiropractic approach to reducing nerve disturbance along the spine, may enhance the ability of the brain and nerve system to control and regulate the body. These include published research documenting the results of chiropractic care on asthma, infantile colic, immune function, dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps), improving vision and brain function, lower back pain, one's overall health status and many others.
The "scientific" argument is largely a red herring and the sign of a double standard. Medical economist David Eddy, MD, Ph.D., observes that only 15% of medical procedures have ever been scientifically verified, and the other 85% of common medical procedures have no "scientific basis!"
Ultimately, the proof is in the pudding. Ask our delighted patients whether chiropractic is scientific.

Doctors Are Doctors. Chiropractors are Chiropractors.
Your notion of a "real" doctor probably conforms to a prototype generated by the mass media. Many have come to think of a doctor as someone who prescribes advice and drugs or performs surgery. Sporting a white lab coat or surgical scrubs with a stethoscope at the neck, doctors are seen as all-knowing, omnipotent and able to save patients in 60 minutes, less commercials.
A medical doctor (MD) and a chiropractor (DC) while different, have both received a degree from a government accredited medical school or chiropractic college and are licensed to practice.
But that’s where the similarity ends because each discipline looks at health and healing in vary different ways.
                              Medical Doctors Chiropractors

                              • Studies the blood
                              • Relies on drugs

                              •Promotes proper bodily function

Clearly, these are two very different philosophies. Yet, each has its place. If you have broken bones or you’re bleeding by the side of the road, you want the heroic lifesaving measures of emergency medical treatment. But if you have chronic aches and pains or an interest in wellness, you may want the health restoration possible that is the focus of chiropractic care.
