Its actually quite old news and logical that certainly a bad root canal could give you big problems. The bacteria are anerobic in some cases and so survive without oxygen.
Cancer is however a stretch from this.
That being said if your imune system is compromise fighting an infection constantly then at least perhaps this leaves you more vulnerable.

Essentially its suggesting that if uou get a tooth infection have the tooth removed
