Do you take Propecia or anything with it - or does the Nizerol do the job good enough? The Propecia runs me $70 a month and that Aveda routine runs me about $100 a month - be less hassle and $ if the nizerol was a one-shot silver bullet.Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View PostHaha, my kinda fella. Add nizerol 2% shampoo to your hair loss routine and your golden.

no i just use the 2% shampoo every night before i get in the shower. i let it sit for 10-15 min on my head. (the prescription stuff, not the over the counter crap.)Originally posted by monster70k View PostDo you take Propecia or anything with it - or does the Nizerol do the job good enough? just tell the doc you have an itchy head and heard nizerol was good. insurance covers it.
ive never used propecia so i cant say how it compares but it for sure works especially for steroid users.

Meant to add that as a "cheap" lotion, I also use this. It makes your face tingly. Makes me feel like it's working  Just kidding, but it does have good reviews.

The AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) in the lotion are supposed to act as an exfoliant, and sort of like what a peel would do (on a smaller scale), which is remove the top layer of skin, the dead skin cells. It also makes your skin more sensitive to the sun (not in your case :whistle ), because that layer also acts as a protectant. The warm feeling will probably go away after you continue to use it.

is that something I want to be using every day? Seems like something that could be damaging (acid) over the long term?Originally posted by FitnessBrat View PostThe AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) in the lotion are supposed to act as an exfoliant, and sort of like what a peel would do (on a smaller scale), which is remove the top layer of skin, the dead skin cells. No it's perfectly fine to use them everyday. It doesn't harm the new/healthy skin forming at the bottom layers. There's always dead stuff to wash away and that's how it's supposed to help rid of fine lines, etc. If you notice it making your skin red, peeling, burning, etc - then you can use it less often until you build up to it.
But now that I've said all that, I didn't even notice if your lotion has AHA's or anything. I assume it does since you said it feels warm.

Also wanted to mention that while the AHA/BHA's are supposed to take away the dead skin cells, the Retin-a is supposed to generate new collagen to fill in the "lines" and wrinkles. And they say to start in your 30's, because once they become deep, then obviously that would be asking a little much to expect to "fill" those.
There's always Botox, too. :whistle

The choldal oatmeal is what I used when I went to that -13 degrees bears game. I might have almost died from hypothermia but by god I had the most hydrated face this side of the Mississippi! Nothing dries that shit out. Its like a force field.
