      Sounds like they are referring to 'heavy lifting' as weight training in general. There is no mention of heavy vs light etc. no doubt the op didn't even read the article.

          maybe I took it wrong but I thought they were pointing out to women that its ok and actually beneficial to hit the weights hard and heavy. not to just rely on cardio and light weight and cables...I thought it was a good read.

                I agree with you,,,I think you need to keep it mixed up with a variety of exercises and rep schemes. Regardless I think intensity should be kept high.
