LoL @ the thought. It's not you bro. What are your reasons for even considering such a diet?

    But yes, scrum is.

Ahh you've got heart attack fears like you went through a few years back.

What happened? You swallow a few dozen cheesecakes and grow a conscious? :D

As far as i'm aware only red meat has been linked with heart issues and the science on that is a bit sketchy. It's drawn on a lot of unknown variables. For example: "bob ate a lot of red meat and died of a heart attack at 47 thus red meat must cause heart issues". Never mind the fact that bob was also 70lbs overweight, drank 7 cokes per day, had zero physical activity, smoked, and had a family history of heart disease. lol

Chicken breast isn't going to be the cause of your heart attack bro, I promise you.

Based on what? Humans evolved to eat meat. We've been doing it for 100's of thousands of years as were Neanderthal before us. Some meat eaters live to be 100 and some vegetarians die at 57 and vice versa. There are a huge amount of factors involved here. So I completely disagree with your "common sense" conclusion.

That's not to say there is anything wrong with being a vegetarian.

Any evidence is based on conclusions that have far too many variables to be of any real use.

The typical vegetarian is obviously a more health conscious person in comparison to the typical meat eater. As for your videos of Bill Clinton.. he was a known slob when it came to not only meat but anything fried or sugary. He loved southern BBQ joints etc.. He ate everything in excess. Obviously any healthy change would have a major impact on him, not just vegetarianism.

We are not talking about "the typical meat eater" here. We are talking about a health conscious meat eater. Take me for example. I eat chicken mixed with peas, avacado and sriracha with a bowl of oats and fish oil for every meal. My cholesterol levels are perfect even on AAS.

Only when you compare a health conscious meat eater to a vegetarian can you remove all the variables. A "typical meat eater" is more likely to do a lot of unhealthy things compared to a vegetarian.

Scrum you want to weigh in here? Agree or disagree with my argument?

Mr I. Please define "Vegetarian". I have a few vegetarian females at work. They eat potato chips, Doritos, Fritos, little debbie cakes, french fries, ice cream and I think at lunch they eat a salad and maybe an avocado and an apple here and there. Hey, they are still vegetarian, right? Because they don't eat meat. I'm sure Scrum knows people like this as well.

Eating healthy will limit your chances of heart disease whether you eat meat or not. I'd eat healthy meat that isn't overcooked (oxidized fat does damage) and vegetables and some non processed carbs. There is quite a bit of data now showing high sugar / high processed carb as a contributor to heart disease and not fat, at least not healthy fats which haven't been overcooked.

The myth that fat causes heart disease is still out there, but there are people right now as we speak dropping all the carbs and sugar, upping their fats, fasting and completely changing their blood markers and even reversing Type II diabetes. These are keto diets.

Look at what people in Okinawa and Sardinia eat. Lots of complex carbs - beans, etc. Relatively little simple carbs, hardly any sugar. Lots of plant food, relatively little meat.

Plus they have an overall healthy lifestyle. They grow vegetables in their backyard, walk for an hour a day, etc. Lots of outdoor activities, not being cooped up inside the house in front of their computer or TV all day.
