  • High Ferritin

    Hey Guys,

So I got some blood work done recently and my ferritin is at a number my doctor considers to be high (379 ug/L). Just wanted to see if you guys had any input or experience with this......thanks.

oh lol. you eat a lot of red meat? if so drop it for awhile. also fiber helps absorb iron instead of letting it get into your system supposedly. so if you eat a high iron meat eat it with some fiber.

I've attached my blood work. I don't eat much red meat. I eat mostly chicken. I'm concerned that there's an underlying issue causing the ferritin number to be above average. Maybe a liver issue?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. I'm gonna continue to research until I hear back from my doctor.

Thanks for not leaving me hanging and at least responding. I've read and learned a shitload from this forum over the years.
