  • PICS OF MY JUDO COMPITITION

These 2 pics are the only pics I have of my Judo compitition this weekend. It was the Kodakan Invitational. I am competed in the Senior Advanced division in the 178-198lbs weight class. The 1st pic is of me throwing the guy for an Ippon which means a full point and you win. He was a Nidan which is a 2nd degree black belt. The 2nd pic is of me in my 2nd match when I was facing another Nidan. I would have won the tournament but I had the worst stomach virus hit me before and while I was competing and I wasnt able to eat so basically I ran out of energy and I told the doc that was there that I wasnt able to continue and I forfited the other matches.:( But the guy that I beat in the 1st pic got 2nd so I know that tournament was for me to win. I will get my rematch this weekend on the 19th at the Gulf Coast Judo Tournament in Highlands, Tx. Wish me luck cause I will be bringing home the gold at this one.

Here is the 2nd pic I am the green belt. Yes I said green belt. My instructor promotes me the Japanese way which is you have to know how to speak and do the Japanese moves as you progress. If it was any other school I would already be a Nidan (2nd degree black belt) by now. But I think the way he has done it has made me better. Besides, doesnt it look badass when I am the only none black belt in the Senior Advanced tournaments and I am beating up on them!:D But he just recently told me that in 2-3months I have to test for the Sankyu rank which is brown belt:( Either way I am just sharing this info with yall cause all of yall are like my bros and sisters. Anyone else that has pics of Martial Arts feel free to post.

That's real cool bro. It shows alot that you have the determination to stick with the way he teaches even though it is totally different.

Congrats on the tournament-good luck on the next one! I think its really admirable the way your teacher works. I'm sure you'd get a ton more respect in Japan than 99% of the Americans who study martial arts.

awesome..makes me what to start back up. I have been slacking so much and it would be a good extra to my cutting cycle.

You use to do Judo? If so what rank and how did you do? Let me know bro. I am really interested in knowing everyone elses experience.

no I was in Taekwondo but any art makes me want to start back up. I had to stop a year ago with REALLY bad shin splints...I couldn't even walk hardly.

Good stuff. Makes me miss my kickboxing. I would really love to get back into something. Maybe this summer I will have time. Not much around here. There is some school in town, but it's only been open once that I went by and I didn't have time to stop. I'm thinking it's karate though. I personally don't care for karate.

Yeah I know bro thanks. Technically I am not suppose to compete w/ black belts unless I am a brown or black belt myself. But since my Instructor is a national coach he signs for me and they let me in. I think thats why he is making me get my brown cause some tournaments they dont let me, plus you have to be a black belt to go to the Olympics.
SC and Shibby try to get back into yalls sports. It makes you feel better all around. Good luck to yall in that.
