I'm a newbie, started around 1st of the year.
36 yrs old
6'2"
Currently 234 lbs. @ 27% bodyfat
Began serious diet and heavy lifting Jan 1, weighing 260+ @ 34%.
I weigh-in weekly utilizing a Tanita bodyfat scale. For the first 4 weeks of training, diet consisted of 1700 calories per day from egg whites, chicken breast, oats, ON whey powder in water and an apple or bananna. Protien intake was 250g-270g per day. During this time I was losing 5lbs of bodyfat per week while making gains of 2-3 lbs of lean tissue. Lifting 5 days per week heavy and intense.
Over the past 2 weeks, in hopes of increasing my lean tissue gains, I have increased my calories to 2400-2700 and protien to 375g-420g. Over last 2 weeks I have also introduced 1 T estergels.
At weigh in today the scale states that I have gained 3lbs BF and lost 7lbs lean tissue. What gives??? Workouts have only gained in intensity.
