  • hard rate after a "big" meal

I try to eat clean all year long, but you know it.....sometimes I get tyred and one day I simply eat everithink I was wisching to

I definitly think that itīs not good, because thatīs a big schock for the body. And specialy the tyroid hormons will rise up.

Yesterday I had one of these days, and I felt that my hard was beating realy fast. So I measured my hard rate and it was an incredibly 130

Good question, as I notice this, too. However, I thought it was more of an insulin invoked response because my heart rate is dramatically increased earlier in the day (after eating my large, higher carb meals based around my workout) and decreases as the day goes on (and I eat large, protein/fat meals).

To tell you the truth, I haven't investigated it. I base the assumption on the fact that my heart rate returns to normal when I eat lower carb foods, even though I'm eating the same amount (calorically speaking).
I'm surprised nobody else has anything to say on this.

            yes, insulin increases heart rate....
perhaps that shock is good for your body, in that it will bring your body out of being so efficient with metabolizing the food and allow your basal metabolic rate to become more elevated. i'm assuming you're not 50+ years old, so a heart rate of 130 isn't harmful unless is remains that way for an extended period of time. i wouldn't beat myself up so much, it hasn't been until the last couple hundred of years that man has been able to have food on a regular basis anyways, our bodies have long ago adapted to being able to feast in preparation for famine. while we fight this so often as fitness enthusiasts, it's okay if we occasionally digress, in fact, most dietary plans include "cheat days" to plan for just that. it speaks volumes that you're that in touch w/ your body enough to know how certain foods affect it, mine doesn't seem to be so easy to read...

uh i noticed the same thing - now i know why
might it sometimes also be a food allergy too?

I decided to do a little experiment. I took two glucosol about 20 minutes before eating my biggest, highest carb meal to see what effect it would have. I have to tell you I did not experience anywhere near the same increase in heart rate that I normally would (without the glucosol) with such a meal.

if you have an allergy to insulin you would be dead : ) diabetics who can't produce it still need to inject themselves with it, i believe it is akin to epinephrine (adrenaline), in that if you were allergic to it, you wouldn't have lived long enough to be able to type on this board.

Food allergy is a major cause of increased heart rate following eating. Try this. Take a heart rate monitor like the type straped around your chest with the monitor on the wrist and wear it during and after meals for at least 30 minutes. Either set it to *Ping* if the rate goes over 110 or just watch it. No monitor..?just set the microwave timer for 20 minutes to remind you. Food allergies will ruin your day mentally and physically and you can't figure out why. Common sense disclaimer..no handfuls of chocolate covered coffee beans etc...
