  • Smart idea?? Bulking Q

I've searched through this forum and various other forums but have not exactly found answers to what I am asking. So lets start with my stats... 18, working out for 2 yrs (past year however off/on), 5'6" maybe 5'7" (growth spurt...) and 140. Well, I have access to a gym now and have been working out for a month, but let's cut the crap, here is my question:

If I eat 4500 Cal's a day, 280 g. Proteins, and a load of carbs (this will all be clean gains by the way!!!), actually the diet I am looking at contains over 400 grams of protein but I will figure that out after I get some answers... Well, if I eat that diet consistently, and reach my goal (180 lb.) would it negatively effect my working out? I plan on working out throughout the entire time of this diet, well, the rest of my life. Also, once I reach 180 I plan on working out w/out gains, more of a fat/muscle exchange???

Another Q, should I slowly gain weight instead of getting it on ASAP? I've read that the more you've got the more you have to work with... I'm sorry if this post is hard to understand, I'm not good with this whole Internet typing thing.

im not sure i understand exactly.

    what is your BF%?

obviously you want to gain muscle, but if your metabolism is slow then taking in 4500 cal a day is going to add some fat, slowly work your way up to around 3000-3500 a day from where you are now (over a 1-2 week period) to gradually get your body used to taking in all those calories.

plus, if you only weigh 140 and you want to take in 280g of protein a day then i personally think thats a waste of protein. most guys recommend 1-1.5 g of protein per pound of bodyweight.

i hope i answered your question...

dude your 18 your still growing, have some patience eat a well balanced diet increase your calories over expenditure by about 500 to 1000 calories a day and let your self finish growing. I hit my growth spurt at 19 .

      the key is patience
