  • Interesting Question regarding Proteins

I read on a Muscle and Fitness Magazine that beans were a good source of protein. I was speaking to a member from here once and told me that they are good protein but not COMPLETE IN PROTEINS. I WAS THINKING, WHAT if i ate something like Burritos that have alot of beans in it. Each one has 10 grams on it and I eat 3 of them. Thats 30 grams there. (Im currently bulking now, so it dont matter the calories and fat).

OK 30 grams of Protein but not complete, WHAT IF I TOok some AMINO ACIDS "BCAA'S", so i can have more a complete protein source. I eat this once in a while, since i got sick of eating tunas all days, maybe eating this 2 times a week. Would that help in making the Bean Proteins more COMPLETE. Just a question?:D

Use beans as a secondary source of protein. I am a vegetarian and beans form an important secondary source of protein for me, the primary being milk and whey protein. I think soybeans are a complete protein source but other beans may not.... soybeans have a lot of protein in them but they also have a reasonable amount of fat.

In addition to beans, try lentils. Lentils may not have as much protein as soybeans but they have virtually no fat. You can cook lentils just like brown rice and spice them up with salt, pepper, etc. and eat them as a side dish to rice. I do that all the time....

Took me a few weeks to get used to it though if you start eating a lot of beans - you will be *real* gassy for a couple of weeks but your body will get used to it after a while...

      Look at http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/tips_list.html

It has a lot of links that describe nutritional content of grains, beans and lentils as well as ways to cook them.

oh yeah man, i also use meats, tuna, chickens, eggs, and my shakes, those are the main things i eat to build muscle. But at times i dont like eating those for somereason thus going for pastas or beans for secondery proteins. I wanted to know while eating those either pastas or beans that BCAA'S would help in only when i eat those meals to make the proteins complete.
