Post workout I take .4 grams per kg of bodyweight of each, maltodextrin, dextrose, and protein. I have been reading and hearing alot on the high and low gi carbs. I know dextrose is a simple high gi carb, and that maltodextrin is a complex carb. I know that maltodextrin is also a high gi carb as well, but I thought that complex carbs are usually a lower gi. Just wondering what number maltodextrin is in the glycemic index compared to dextrose? I beleive maltodextrin scored teh highest.
If they are both high gi, should I take a low gi food with them to level off blood-glucose levels after a workout as well?

Also, how soon after the malto/dex/ protein should my first meal be post workout as well, and what should this meal consist of besides high protein, low or high gi carbs?

    Thanks

There are many kind of maltodex abuot their DE (dextrose equal).

high DE ---> GI matldex= GI dextrose
low DE-----> GI maltodex < GI dextrose

Maltodex with low DE, you can use like pre-wo
Maltodex with high DE, you can use like post-wo.

You use whey protein in the post wo (or free-aa)

    Plese: forget my english.
