It's not only what you eat, but when and how often you eat. If you are young and have a high metabolism, you need to be eating at least 6 protein based meals a day which include at least 30 grams of protein per meal. Breakfast and post workout are probably the two most important meals so try not to skip those. A shake before bedtime is also important so your body doesn't break down the muscle you are trying to gain while you sleep without food for 8 hours. You not only need to focus on building more muscle, but on trying to keep your body from breaking down muscle. Think of it as you have little men building and little men demolishing at the same time. Your goal is to do everything possible to keep the builders always ahead of the demolishers. That comes with eating balanced protein based meals every 3 hours, training hard , and getting enough rest. Now get to work brotha!!!
