  • Help..cooking Squash.

I bought some squash yesterday and I cut it up in round slices. Now, how should I cook it? Here in the south everything is fried, but of course I don't eat fried veggies. So, if anyone has some ideas please let me know. Gotta do it today though.

I like to cook it on the grill with some nutmeg. Or put some garlic on it and bake it.

OOOOOO I like the sound of the baking. Fresh Garlic I guess? Bake at 350 for ____ amount of time? On the grill do you put it on foil?

Baking time depends on how you like your squash, but it dosn't take long seeing your just heating up the water in the veggie. Garlic can be fresh or powder. Depends on your time and preferance. On the grill you can do either, but I like to put it right on the grill for that "grilled" flavor.

The grilled ones look great. The ohters are still baking, but smell good as hell. I am gonna eat a steak and my veggies and then have a shot of suspension for dessert. All while watching the race, Sunday is the best day. Shibby I made enough for a small army so you are welcome to come eat.

You can always bread it and bake it.

Also, have you tried spaghetti squash. OMG, it's so good!!!! You can nuke it till soft, cut it in half, then scrape out the stuff inside. It looks like spaghetti. I eat it just like spaghetti, a bit of cheese and some sauce. Very filling.

Spaghetti Squash is awesome. You can also bake it, bt ittakes 45 minutes, and isn't substtially better'n nuking it.
As mentionned, eats just like Spaghetti, or even with some butter and garlic salt... yum.

i cut it up and put it in a reynolds aluminum grill bag with mrs dash and "i cant beleive its not butter" or olive oil and maybe some soy sauce. also garlic and cut up purple onions and red and green peppers and put them in as well. i put it on the top rack of my grill on low to medium for 45-50 minutes and it comes out real good. oh i use both zuccini and yellow squash.
