  • Please bump your favorite non-red-meat recipes!

I'm putting together a cookbook for a friend as a birthday gift and would appreciate it if you guys would bump up some of your favorite recipes that don't include red-meats.

    Thanks guys! :)

This is turning into quite a project, this recipe book. LOL What I'm doing is copying the main recipe and then in alternating colors I'm putting in the comments from people (names witheld) and some of them are good comments about how to change the recipes but some of the comments are just so funny to read! My friend will really enjoy this. :) She'll probably also understand why I like being on the boards like I do. You guys are a riot sometimes!

what about bacon, the other white meat? I've got a great recipe but it includes a lil bit of bacon...
take some chicken breasts and pound them to about 1/2" thick, marinate them in a mixture of worchestershire sauce, a little bit of honey, and pepper to taste.
Cook a few slices of bacon, after removing them from the pan add slices of fresh mushrooms, onions, and red/green peppers, saute until they sweat, peppers will take longer to soften than the others.
Place the chicken breasts on a pan a third from the top in the oven, which has been pre-heated to broil, give them 5 minutes and then turn them over for another 5. Remove them and place the strips of bacon on the chicken, veggies on top of the bacon, and mozzarella cheese on top of the veggies, place it back in the oven until cheese melts and chicken is cooked through.
You didn't say it had to be healthy right? Variations to make it easier on the body include using salt substitute, turkey bacon, and low-fat cheese, it really comes down to preferance and how strict on a diet you're being but it's a great cheat meal!

              Bacon...you guys are so bad!

I have tried turkey bacon but if it's low enough in fat then it tastes like plastic, regular turkey bacon has too much fat for me but my friend might use it. Thanks for that recipe. :)
