    I see a lot of things that say pancakes and syrup are the best thing to have before a show to carb up. Is that truly the most effective way? Also, how long before the show should one have the carb up meal?

    Pancakes and syrup are really only for people who are looking flat, and need to fill out. Not everyone eats that, nor should they. Simple sugars are best right before you start pumping up.

    There is no one "carb up" meal. You start carbing up 3-4 DAYS before your show. You aslo need to eat a small amount of health fat.

      Like redsqurirell said, there really isnt a "carb up meal". if your looking flat before a show pancakes wouldnt be a good choice anyway. its heavy and will bloat your stomach. what most guys do is eat a few tablespoons of fruity pie filling like cherry. something that is made up of pure sugar.

        I thought you are supposed to cut out carbs before a show, then the day of start carbing up no? There was an article on that called "7 Days to Ulitmate Leanness"
