What r u all's thoughts on this. I havent had any pasta in a while. Im cutting down eating leaner foods. I know i cannot be eating pasta to get cut or shed bf. I dont mean eating it every meal cause i know i will get fat but one meal only today 2:00pm.

But once a week is it ok to eat this stuff as in a meal.

It's ok. Pasta in general has a higher GI. It also has wheat gluten which can slow digestion. Once a week is ok, but I wouldn't make it a habit.

yeah pasta is tough for me to cut out because it is such an easy family meal and I love it so much. But I am guessing my nutritional supervisor won't let me have it. LOL

since today is Monday, i had it for some added carbs to get me going through the week. Sundays, i eat whatever (cheat days for me). But from MOnday to Friday, i eat clean foods (tuna, chicken breasts, eggs, and my shakes). So by the end of the week im a bit tired and all, so saturday, i eat clean again but with one cheat meal, thats all. I always try to get the carbs in the mornings only, after that its all clean.

But yeah im gonna try to do this every Monday and only a small portion, dont wanna make it a habit too, cause i will get fat:(

This is the name of the brand I bought.

American Harvest "Whole Wheat Blend Pasta".

right now im trying to lose some bf around my gut area. The rest of my body is ok, just that all the cycles i did never took care of my gut and im paying the price right now. My goal is just to make it look flat and not the beer belly i used to have.

But once i start packing on size for next year, the diet will be high calorie clean and high protein. I wanna compete next year here the local show and then on South Texas.:D

Im trying to lose the gut so when i bulk up i will have no belly no more and add mass to my frame without putting too much on my stomach and then cut down.

Its deffinitely better than regular pasta. Depends on your goals though. It wouldnt be my first choice for cutting.

Whole wheat pasta in moderation is FINE for cutting, it's delicious, nutritious and has a GI around 40... But your best bet would be that high fiber high protein pasta, it has a GI rating of like 30.

If your on a cutting diet carbohydrate intake should be taken from low glycemic carb sources, such as:
yams, brown rice, oatmeal, fibrous vegetables, and fresh salads.

Im convinced wheat pasta is a marketing gimmic. They throw some color into it and add a little fiber. Slap the label on it HEY LOOK AT ME WHEAT HERE. Some poor bastard 50lbs overweight who just finished his south beach diet book descides its ok to eat the whole box.

Pasta sales are down since being Atkinized (40-50% in some cases). You see companies filing for bankruptcy. So they have to "re-invent" their product. Soon we will see posts "is the new Soy-based (low carb, Atkins approved) pasta ok or should I eat brown rice?"

The nutritional values of the wheat pasta vs. regular are about the same.

                    Ok im bored at work.

this was about sept 2004 while trying to cut down. Worked well but now im bulking up again without juice till August.

I had to drop the pasta, havent ate it in a while due to it not digesting properly. Damn stomach pains were a pain and not to mention on the restroom. So no more pasta here for me.

Learn from my mistake..I was eating pasta just about every day for my lunch and I added too much bodyfat and no so much "good weight". I've started eating more brown rice w/steak or tuna. IMO, if you are cutting I would throw it out or if you are going to eat it once a week make it a small side dish and not so much your main meal.

yeah man, i learned that. I was doing well in shedding the bf off certain areas but the stomach bf wouldnt go away. I completely eliminated it from both cutting and bulking.
