  • Regarding Requests for Diets

    As everyone knows, nutrition is far and away the most important aspect of reaching your goals, whether that be gaining weight on losing body fat. its inevitable that there will be a myriad of reuqests for diet help, as I read them daily. To be honest, I pass a lot of them off for the reason they are incomplete. When preparing to get help with your diet, please include the following:

    Your Stats
    Height, weight, body fat percent

    Your Goals
    These should be VERY specific, ie. I want to lose 15lbs of fat while maintaining strength and lean body mass.

    Your Basal MEtabolic Rate
    A very handy, very underutilized tool. Take the 10 minutes to figure it out, using THIS thread. This makes things easier for you and us.

    Your food availability
    If you dont like tuna, say I dont eat tuna. If someone makes you a diet and has you eating foods you do not like or are unavailable to you, it was a waste of time.

    Your diet time length
    How quickly youd like to reach these goals (be realistic).

    Your cardio type (if applicable)
    Might as well toss this in to give the evaluator a better idea of how youre going to cut down.

    Any ergogenic aids/drugs you plan to use
    Obviously this makes a difference in your diet type.


    Im sure there are a couple more, but these are the most important. Please do not neglect these aspects. If all of these are included youre much more likely to get a shrewd response to your questions and in a timely manner.

    :agree: Great post, YJ. I also don't bother to respond often when there just isn't enough info to even attempt to make an intelligent response.

          -Age:23
          -Hgt:5'7
          -Wgt:155(back and fourth)
          -Body Fat:i dont have a caliper.(is there another way)
          -Goals:i want to get to good runnerback size by next Aug. around 180-200lbs
          -BMR:2848.4775(took me forever to get this)
          -Food:i think i'll eat whatever get's the pounds on.(i think)
          -Lenght: 8 months or sooner so i can get use to it
          -Drugs: just Cell-tech right now is all i am using

            Great idea,,,much easier to assist correctly with stats.
