olive oil is a good fat that benefits the cardiovascular system and should NOT be used for cooking as heat destroys its health benefits. It should be used on foods as a topping like as in salad dressings and the like. Flax oil is one of the highest sources of omega-3 EFA, which is the most important EFA for optimum cardiovascular health. Fish oil is also good for cardiovascular health, but also converts to EPA and DHA, which are neurotransmitters in the brain, and can help with focus and concentration.

I take my flax oil in capsule form along with my vitamins.

Of course you can still use it for cooking sweety, you will just lose some of the health benefits that it can offer if eaten cold. ;)Originally posted by MrsPuddlesFL

I didn't realize that oil can go bad. A few weeks ago hubby wanted brownies, so I made them with some veg. oil that I had in the pantry since who knows when...well, the brownies were horrible...the oil had gone bad. But maybe that was a good thing...we didn't eat them. LOL
