  • couple of diet ???

can i gradually cut fat with this diet?
    1 cup of oatmeal
    44gm protein shake

    post workout
lean mass matrix mrp with scoop of whey
    1/2 cup of oatmeal.

    8oz steak w/small salad

chicken breast with 1 cup brown rice

    tuna sandwich on mutli-grain bread

    44gm protein shake

    chicken breast

i'm not concerned with losing it fast because i'd like to maintain muscle as much as i can since i'll be doing this without any gear.

and also i've been using regular brown rice but i saw that kraft makes an instant brown rice which is cooked in under 10 minutes i think. would using the quicker cooking rice be just as good?

Maybe ... depends on your stats.

I go the BMR route when determining my diet.

Also, I'd try to substitute real food for the shakes.

    Good luck.

        Couple comments:

        Add some veggies
Add some healthy fats - fish oils, flax seed
Careful with the bread-there's not much that doesn't have added sugar or truly whole grains.
I would stay away from anything instant. I would swap your steak and salad meal for a meal that you had later in the day that had more carbs. Keep meals higher in carbs closer to workout and meals lower in carbs closer to night.

As far as losing weight with that, assuming your BMR is somewhere close to mine, weight will come off pretty quickly eating that little food if you're working out and doing appropriate cardio (at least 4x/wk). If you want to do less cardio, I would cut back on some of the carbs-like 1/2 cup of rice instead of 1cup.

          thanks guys,
          i'm 190 @about 16% 5'10"
i'll add some veggies and i already take flax and fish oil caps. i'll check my bmr later and see where it falls into place. and i'll switch the two meals around.

oh and the shakes are simply because of lack of time to make meals. they're just easier for me.

What fat? Its already gone. A low fat diet is also a low testostrone diet =) The hormone will take a nose dive. Its the building block of muscle. I would do this removeunhealthy fats Saturated and replace with healthy fats (peanuts, lean meat). Plus fats help you stay full longer.

Other ways to increase the amount of resting testosterone level and testosterone your body releases.
Mass building xercises squats, deadlifts, power cleans.
            Use heavy weights
            Do a lot of work
            Keep rest periods short 60secs.
            Train consistenly for 2 yrs.

He's referring to his body fat, not dietary fat! Note that the recommendation was to add healthy dietary fat.

I guess I was confused on what he was asking because he diet looks good. Yes you already recommended this. I made a ref. to heathly fats and Testosterone levels =)

Plus flax seed is still debateble with me...they have linked the flax seed oil to increased prostate cancer. Flax seeds maybe ok.
