  • Post workout shake

Hey guys, quick question about my post workout shake, I usually just go to the gym and workout, rarely do cardio outside of sports. I'm going to start running after I lift so should I have my shake prior to cardio after I lift or should I have it after I'm done w/ lifting and running? I'm pretty sure I'd take it after my workout prior to cardio but just want to make sure. Thanks -Husky

Should be taken after your workout ideally, the problem is that if your then doing cardio then anything other than simple carbs won't get digested easily because your blood is everywhere else feeding oxygen to your muscles, and you may get cramp.

Thats why they tell you not to eat heavy up to two hours before you swimming.

The other problem is that your talking about running, so you might puke.

best have the shake after your cardio as I think, just drink water or simple sugars/glucose polymers during workout.
