If there was such a thing as 100% lean beef would it be the same calories as chicken or tuna?? is the extra cals from beef just the extra fat?

If you had 100% lean beef and 100% lean chicken, they would have the same cals. 1gm of protein of chicken=1gm of protein of beef=4calories.

Yes, the extra cals in beef is from the fat. 1serving is usually 4oz, but in beef that 4oz is made of protein and more fat, which has a more calories per gm than protein, so the total calories per serving is higher.

If you get EYE of a round beef, it is very cheap and the leanest cut.

I just bought 4kg for $30. that will last me like a month.

I think there is only 1 gram more of sat. fats for a 3 ounce serving

I usally have about 7 ounces a day. I is great for getting bigger.

^^^^There really is no good answer for "leanest cut of meat". Most meats you can just cut off the fat on the ends and it will be pretty lean.

well the Eye of a round has no real interior fat, doesn't look marbled compared to Sirloin or rib steaks etc.

I used to be a butcher so I have seen it all

Not exactly true. That would be impossible to do on certain cuts and ground. Look at the meat if theres a lot of white rippled through it is fatty. High in saturated fat (beef or portk ribs, brisket, ground beef, pork sausage) It goes down so fast your body doesnt have time to activate appetite controlling mechanisms. I would steer away from the pieces with lots of what butchers call "visable" fat.

Lean cuts: Filet, 90-95% lean ground beef, sirloin (eye of round etc.), flank, or tenderloin.

            *7 lean cuts of beef.

Haven't seen much if you think a mignon isn't leaner than a Eye of round. I too have worked in a buther shop.

Yes, but a guideline will speed up your descision or when your out to eat for dinner (cant go in the back an inspect it). This is just my opinion but if your cutting eat more chicken less debat (also substitue tuna, salmon, Protien shakes).

^^^True. I actually have been eatin more chicken lately at my favorite steak house because their coking and steaks have been a little below par as far as being over done and fatty.
