  • Bulking Diet - Whole Wheat Pasta??

I'm basically getting tired of brown rice and sweet potatoes so I was wondering where whole wheat pasta acutally stands. I saw in some previous posts that I believe Puddles wrote that it was alright, but not to have it as your main dish; have it more as a side dish to avoid fat gain.

What do you guys think, is it worth throwing in diet plan with some chicken?

Also, why is fat free cheese a no no?

    Thanks in advance!

I would have to agree, side dish amounts only. Brown rice is 55 on the GI scale and spagetti is 42. Not sure where whole wheat pasta is, but 42 isn't too bad, so it would be a good alternative. Pasta will def pack on the lbs fast due to being so carb dense, so watch portions.

When you say packing on the lbs I'm assuming you mean bodyfat? I want to get bigger, but I just don't want to put on too much bodyfat. This way when it comes time for shredding I want have to diet as hard and lose as much muscle.

Yeah, I meant BF. Your body just can't put on msucle like it can BF. If you eat alot of this pasta, you will gain BF. Just keep portions low and try measuring it out to get an idea how much you should be eating.

IMO, it really depends on how carb sensitive you are. I would agree that most people can't just eat a bunch of pasta, but it takes a lot of carbs for me to gain weight, so pasta is a good way to do it. I haven't seen problems for myself, but I'm definitely an ectomorph as well.

Make sure that you are counting you calorie intake. Thats more important than what type of food you are taking in.

So I guess I can whatever I want as long as my caloric intake is good? DOUBT IT.

Details please! So how do you make this? Just chopped chicken in noodles and then melt cheese over the top?

First, I make sure that I have the chicken made and cut up into bite size pieces in a deep bowl.

Next, I make my pasta; Usually the Rotini b/c it just mixes better with the cheese. If I use the spaghetti noodles they tend to stick to each other with cheese.

Then I put two slices of fat free kraft american cheese, not cheddar on the chicken.

Now I pour the steaming hot rotini pasta on top of everything.

I then pour some butter spray (don't spray or you will be there all day) on top and mix everything together..Add as little salt sub and fresh ground pepper and you are set my friend!

                          WM :bbq:
