  • Getting cut without cardio...

    I was woundering if making workouts longer and more intense would substitute for cardio and burn fat? Im 5'10" 195lbs and i really want to cut down some cuz im so tired of this excess fat on me its not even funny... Im currently on a cycle with deca and sus and my upper bod looks great and legs are comming along nicely... the only thing thats really pissing me off is my stomach. Its like no matter what i do, i cant get it cut. One of my buddys at the gym just told me to do at least 3 different work outs on abs every day. He said dont use any weight just lots of reps and burn myself out. My diet is i guess ok... When i get up in the morning usually about 10pm on weekends i make 5 egg whites with 1 whole egg. I then add some ham which is like 1g in fat and 1g in carbs with good amount of protien. I usually mix all that shit up and add a small amount of cheese usually consisting with about 5g of fat and like 12g of carbs.. I eat that and have a protien shake with 55g of protien per serving... its the pro complex protien powder i forgot who makes it... Then about 12pm i usually eat a whole roticery chicken (throwing away the skin) or if i dont have any chicken/steak, i eat just plain tuna and i eat enough to fill me up and with that ill eat a banana or two with a apple or two and veggies every now and then. I go to the gym at about 2 or 3ish and usually work out for about 90min to 2 hours. when i get home i make a protien shake and eat my last big meal of the day. Usually consisting of green beans, salad, steak or chicken, potatoes and some fruit (canalope/apples). this is about 6pm. at about 7 or 8 i usually snake on some left over chicken or steak and i also drink lots of water throughout the day. I get at least a gallon of water per day no less usually more. iv been eating like this for about 2 months and i notice iv went down in body fat and my stomach lost a little but im really pissed off cuz i want more!! i think the last time i did a body fat test at the gym was 3 months ago and it was something like 16% and i dont think its gotten very far. Its really just my fuckin stomach thats pissing me off everything else looks good im just mad at myself right now so any suggestions and help would be apreciated!

    It doesn't look like you're eating enough and you're definetly not eating clean as a whole. I'm not going to do your BMR but it just looks like you're not getting enough in there and you need to read through some other's diets to see what I mean by not eating clean.

      I don't show decent stomach definition until I get down to about 8%bf. I would expect that you would have quite a bit of bf on your stomach at 16%, especially cause thats where most guys naturally hold more bf, compared to woman who hold it on their butt and hips. Doing things like supersetting during weightlifting and even just weightlifting will certainly lower bf by providing some cardio and increasing your metabolism. Proper nutrition and probably cardio are necessary to get the results it sounds like you're looking for. Some gifted people, like Dexter Jackson, supposedly do no cardio and can get very cut (with the aid of supplements). However, cardio is a key for most people.
      I agree with foghat... calculate your BMR and make sure you're getting within 500cals of your BMR or your body will fight fat loss because it thinks that you're starving.

        just wanna make it clear for all you little people out there that BBAddict is referring to steroids and illicit chemicals. So don't ask what supplements you should buy at your next trip to GNC that will get you cut without cardio.

                i didnt realize that my clarification of BBAddict's comment on "supplements" would make you think you are ready to use steroids or illicit chemicals...

                i think both myself and BBAddict were trying to say that people like Dexter Jackson went to the extreme of using these compounds to do it without cardio. You are no where near ready to go to that extreme. Dexter Jackson was.

                Do not ask for advice on what steroids or any illicit compound for that matter will get you cut, because you are at least five to ten years away from being ready to use any of that.

                  While I am sure that research chems like clen are very effective and appealing as it seems to be a shortcut, nothing is a substitute for a proper diet and exercise regimen. Not only does cardio elevate your metabolism and activate natural fat burning mechanisms within your body, but it is good for your heart and many other body parts. I can't say the same for research chems or steroids. Just so you know, I am not recommending clen or anything out of personal experience. I have never done anything more thermogenic than what you could buy at GNC! When I started bodybuilding I got down to about 7% bf through nothing but lifting, cardio and a good diet (actually I've learned a lot since then-it wasn't as good as I thought it was). If you do want to help the process along and you have everything else in order, I would recommend something like an anarchy stack or an EC/ECA stack.
                  However, NOTHING will help as much as a good diet and good exercise regimens (which includes cardio)!

                    aye i just said fuck it and started with cardio today. im going to do cardio 5 times a week at least 30 min. i just got back from the gym though however with a piss poor workout. I didnt get much sleep last night and i had to wake up at 6am for work and got to bed at like 12am last night with only like 3 to 4 hours sleep because i couldnt sleep worth a shit for some reason. i was pretty much exausted all damn day. I went to the gym and did cardio for 35 min then i went on to working out chest for the day. I was soooo weak it wasnt even funny. I started out with flat bench and put two 45s and a 25 on each side just to see where i stood from last week. Well... last week when i put the same weight on it was nothing.. Today it was like i couldnt even do it. I got 6 reps on that for the first set and thats fuckin pitifull. i then added 10lbs to each side and only got 3 reps the second set... To me i think i was just too tired for the gym today because even at work i slacked soooooo bad. I usually do at least 3 to 5 workouts per bodypart and today i only did 2!!!!! Im even on a cycle so i was like thats just not even funny!! oh well.. im going to bed early tonight after i do some college studies and hopefully pick up better tomorrow. I might even pick up on some more chest since i did shit with it today. Would it be wise to do chest tomorrow along with shoulders because i usually do 1 body part per day but today sucked so would that make up for today or what should i do about that?
