  • Buying egg whites instead of whole eggs at grocery store?

I was woundering if just buying straight egg whites at the grocery store instead of whole eggs has the same protein and contents in them? I'm thinking of doing this to keep costs of eating eggs low. I'v never read the nutrition facts on plain eggs whites at the store so I just woundered if it's the same as buying whole eggs and subtracting the yolk. Also, is there like nuts or something I can buy that has a good amount of calories but low in fat that I can snack on throughout the day. It's hard sometimes to eat constant meals when I'm on the run at work so I would usualy just double up on protein shakes I guess as a small meal replacement.

its the same but your not going to be saving money. 5 dozen eggs is about 3.50 at walmart. i dont know the price of the egg white cartons, but i know it doesnt have 5 dozen egg whites in it and my guess would be its around the same price.

Egg white cartons are several times more expensive than buying eggs and separating them yourself. Theres no easy way around it, except getting rich so that it doesn't matter what they cost.

Well, nuts don't fit that description. I've made jerky bits before to snack on, but that's not really high in cals.
