  • losing weight by starving

im trying to lose alot of weight , and alot of people tell me that you should eat every 3 hrs even if your cutting. i only eat 1 big meal a day early like 2-3pm , no breakfast or dinner really, i just have a small snack at night. i do cardio for 40min 3-5 day sper week , so far ive lost about 15 pounds in 3 weeks, my question is : is this healthy , can i do this for a few more months to lose weight, and im not getting sick of this diet, i am getting used to not eating many times per day, and i completly cut out junk food and fast food.

also i was talken to this guy that owns a nutrion/supplemnt store. he was telling me im better off weight lifting to lose weight rather than cardio, is this true

Start reading up in this section http://www.superiormuscle.com/vbulle...aysprune=&f=54

Yes it's better to eat than not eat. You burn calories at a high rate for a longer period of time due to muscle recovery. But you have to eat to stimulate muscle growth.

You need to do alot of research, your doing harm to your body. Just as quick as you lost those 15 lbs you will put it back on. Check out the nutrition and training sections and do some reading

the second you start eating again your waist is going to explode. also, even you ate everything you should be getting each day in your one big meal, you can only digest so much of each nutrient in one dose... dedicate a week or two to learn all about proper diet and excercise... no one would be willing to explain it all to you but we can at least you what areas to study: to name a few:
            the glycemic index
effects of lean bodymass on weightloss
effects of weight lifting on metabolism
effects of metabolism on weight loss
            importance of timing of meals
what each meal should consist of
            etc etc

Yes you need to be eating about six small/healthy meals a day. That will keep your metabalism up and burning fat and the food you take in will help you keep your muscle. If you are not eating properly you are not only burning fat but you are burning muscle as well. Trying to lose a lot of weight by starving yourself isn't going to last in the long run. You need to look at the big picture and realize that depleting your body of the vitamins and minerals it needs to operate is only doing it harm. How about giving more info on what you are trying to accomplish.

everyone is different. do you really want to stress your body out like this? think about eating every three hours small meals you will lose alot more weight you will burn more cals from digestion that way aswell as boosting your metabolism. you also can always just stick to the good old calorie drop of 300-500 for a 5 days have a calories up to trick your metabolism into ramping up and go right back to low cal eating again adding a cal up every 6th or 7th day. basically there are alot more efficient and safe ways to lose weight. you should also check out www.fitday.com if your unsure about what your eating

The first few weeks of weight loss for you was mostly water. Not fat. Starving your body has been known to cause bradycardia (slow heartbeat), and hypothermia. If starved for long periods of time it can cause cardiac arrest, and some times the symptons that occur are not reversible. I would suggest the slower healthier approach to lose the weight. It may take twice as long but you would feel ten times better and you wouldn't have to live with health risk and complications later in life. Read the forums and you will find loads of info on what and what not to eat. You can then start to draw out a diet. Once you have a diet plan post it and ask for advice. If you can stick to only eating once a day then you shouldnt have any problem sticking to a diet. Good luck.
