what's a good, cost-effective dry cereal? I'm trying to rotate something in with cream of wheat and oatmeal, something I can just dump in a bowl and add milk to...I've tried different kinds of Kashi Go Lean, and I like granola, but the good kinds are expensive

Have you taken a look at the bottom shelf brands? Almost the exact same thing for so much cheaper.

kashi heart to heart and go lean crunch are alright but i think are a tad pricy

the breakdown of cheerios and kix actually aren't that bad but i would still say oatmeal is way better...

oh and another way to eat oatmeal would be to cook your oatmeal as usual then just mix in a scoop of whey with it

i use all the whey protein(a few diff flavors) and mix it with my oatmeal and it tatses pretty damn good

I don't know if you are cutting or whatever, but look up a recipe for oatmeal cookies on this forum. basically uses margerine, oats, splenda, and cinammon and they are incredible.

i would try to stay away from the margarine...you could also add natural peanut butter and/or whole egg(s) to the recipe...

oh ya, i definitely agree these cookies shouldnt be a mainstay. margerine, especially the kind with trans fat, is horrible for you. im just sayin if your bulking, you could have a serving or two of these a week for breakfast.

True, that or the imitation brands are usually available for half the price.

I really like cereal. I would have to say Kashi Heart to Heart and Grape nuts (or grape nuts Flakes) are my favorite

Sam's has an excellent Granola (w/raisins) for a very low price. You basically get two boxes (theirs come in bags though) for under $6. I only eat this as a cheat meal every now and then but it's excellent...

Ever check out Life cereal? Its a kids cereal but who cares it 100% whole grain oats and has a excellent nutrional value I eat it sometimes with Soy milk when I want a break from my usual egg whites and oatmeal.
