I have heard a lot of postive feedback on that.

IMO, its costly but a good investment.

Well, it is a one time investment and I didn't want to get something cheap that is flimsy or more importantly, will not give reliable measurements.

They are pretty cheap(cost), so if you are going to be doing it yourself I would get them. I've use electronic ones and simple plastic ones. If you are doing it yourself it can be a pain in the ass to get the pinch, set the calipers on it, then read the number.

it's alright, it's kind of a pain-in-the-ass to use, at times. The numbers seem arbitrary because they're all whole numbers on the screen, whereas other calipers have millimeter marks -- a personal preference of mine.

These are better over a long-term, heavy-use period than the all-plastic ones (fat track gold or whatever) because after a while (I'd say 30-40) bf measurements the plastic wears down, so it snaps at a higher mm measurement, making you think your folds are thicker

with this one, you have to keep selecting "skip" if you want to use 7 sites, because what it actually does is records all the measurements and tells you your bf right away, as opposed to other calipers where you just measure and measure, and write your numbers down.

I've also used $240 calipers which felt more substantial, but seemed to give higher skinfold measurements.

What I've read is if you're doing yourself, the ordinary plastic ones should suffice, but if you're measuring someone else, get the best ones you can find...I don't remember where I read that, though

Hey Go Yankees, I am not quite following your comment. Which calipers are you saying is better? The Fat Track Gold is the one I was leaning towards. Are you saying that it is the all plastic one that would wear out sooner (kinda hard to tell from the picture). If so, which one would you suggest I get?
