  • Question about Diet

Ive been trying to set my diet up and have a few questions. When refering to the percentages of pro/fat/carbs are these percentages for calories or grams?
Also what percentages of pro/fat/carbs are best for cutting or bulking? Ive read a lot of info but Id like to get various opinions and the reason for those opinions. Thanks

The percentage should relate to total calories...

I've always like a 40/40/20 split for most basic diets....

If you're bulking stick with that and just up the calories (and throw in the occasional cheat meal) - if your just doing your basic cut (not a contest diet etc) then just lower the caloric intake and leave out the cheat meals......

Ask away on anythiing else you need....

      Thanks for the feedback Foghat.
That seems to be the standard breakdown but Im interested in finding out about other breakdowns and what kind of sucess people had.

My contest diet is 55/25/20 on workout days and 65/15/20 on non-workout days - of course this will change the closer I get but I've got 3 more weeks at this ratio...

I've used a 35/50/15 before in the offseason and had good results but I felt like I put on too much bf - of course I wasn't doing ANY cardio and my total calories were around 6000....

I would just pick something and keep track of things - if it doesn't work out the way you want it to then switch it up after x amount of time etc......

        Good luck....

BTW - my next diet change will look like this...

          Workout Days ~ 60/20/20

          Non-Workout Days ~ 70/10/20
