  • Why does everybody here use peanut butter in everything?

Why does everybody here use peanut butter in everything? Why don't they just put peanuts in them instead? Almost every shake recipe ive seen here involves peanut butter but peanuts alone should naturally be better and cheaper right?

And also, i would appreciate a critique on my morning shake, i don't got measurements for the stuff, i just put them in.

    1 banana
    cottage cheese
    flax seeds
    peanuts, walnuts, almonds
strawberry kiwi flavoured protein(as soon as this runs out im going to buy chocolate flavoured cause i don't like this flavour much)
    oatmeal
    water

One other question, would using casein powder over cottage cheese make that big of a difference? Because cottage cheese is really breaking the bank for me and micellar protein seems a lot cheaper. Or am i just calculating it wrong?

i pay $3.50 for 500g of cottage cheese which contains 64g of protein.

the equivalent $3.50 worth of micellar casein would give me 111g of protein.

because peanuts dont mix well in a shake. they sit at the bottom of the blender. tried it a few times with different types of nuts.

as far as the casein powder VS cottage cheese, food is always better but it shouldnt make much of a difference in the big picture.

yeah, im shying away from soy right now since supposedly it has some properties which mess up your hormones

i have a gyno(not from steroids) naturally, which really sucks, so im trying to avoid anything that could even possibly make them worse

and in case anybody thinks im just fat, im not, and there's an actual hard noticeable peice of tissue there

EDIT: I solved my cottage cheese problem somewhat, I found somewhere else that sells 500g for $2.50, it doesn't taste as good, but same amount of protein.

i am still in highschool and naturally i can't afford surgery, a few years down the road i'll take it, but right now, it's far out of my reach

i blame soy 80% for this though, i've realized all the things i used to eat 3-4 years ago when i first developed it have soy, i SERIOUSLY think there's like a conspiracy going on or something, almost EVERYTHING has soy in it, they're really pushing it down our throats. EVERYTHING prepared has soy in it virtually, it kills me not to eat granola or chocolate bars cause of the soy.

I don't know which type of soy it is that causes it. the actual bean, the soybean oil, soy lecithin, but either way, no soy

You can stop blaming it on a conspiracy bro - there's no way you've eaten enough soy from processed foods to contract gyno - you're going to have to go out of your way to get that far into problems with soy - maybe you should have your folks doctors have your hormone levels tested to see if your surgery can be done under insurance - some teens just get it when their hormones go all crazy during puberty...

Now go eat some peanut butter....

you should read about the bad things about soy, including, but not limited to, decreased testosterone, increased estrogen, blocking some vitamins, increasing your need for vitamins

soy basically has nothing good about it, especially if you're trying to gain muscle

i might consider getting that operation after highschool if its covered, but the problem is that supposedly you're out from physical activity for a couple months

i had the surgery when I was in HS, for gyno that was pretty bad. It only took me about a month to get back fully into sports. It wasn't a fun surgery though.

I believe this is an urban myth.

In fact, some of the phytochemicals in soy have been found to be adaptogenic.. i.e. they can plausible normalize a hormonal imbalance... as opposed to specifically acting as an estrogen (or an anti-androgen as the case may be) as popularly reported.
