What do you all add to your oatmeal? I have been eating my oatmeal with a spoon of Spenda for a long time and I'm getting tired of it. Wondering if I should add a few slices of banana or some other fruit - any other ideas? Is one kind of fruit better than the other in terms of carb quality for the 1st meal in the morning?

Blueberries or strawberries would be a good carb/fruit sourceOriginally posted by ScrumhalfWhat do you all add to your oatmeal? also, it helps to make the banana soft before putting it in the oatmeal. i sqeeze around the outside of the banana while it is still in the peel. once it is soft i put it in the bowl of cooked oatmeal and smash with a fork until you cant even see it anymore. then break up some pecans and mix together. you will love it. i eat it every morning with my eggs. 1 cup dry oats, water, throw into microwave for 2 minutes then follow the steps above. don't add splenda or sugar or anything to it, the banana gives it plenty of flavor. good stuff.

Does squeezing round the outside of the banana feel familiar :laughnew:Originally posted by THE BOUNCERalso, it helps to make the banana soft before putting it in the oatmeal. i sqeeze around the outside of the banana while it is still in the peel. once it is soft i put it in the bowl of cooked oatmeal and smash with a fork until you cant even see it anymore. then break up some pecans and mix together. you will love it. i eat it every morning with my eggs. 1 cup dry oats, water, throw into microwave for 2 minutes then follow the steps above. don't add splenda or sugar or anything to it, the banana gives it plenty of flavor. good stuff.
