  • Interesting Photo Essay

I found this on another website. It is a photo essay showing the weekly food purchases of 15 families across the globe.

    http://www.time.com/time/photogaller...626519,00.html

What I found interesting was the difference in the amount of packaged versus fresh food in various countries and the rough correlation to obesity and other diet-related maladies that appear to exist in various populations across the world.

That's pretty crazy - the prices some people spend/don't spend are crazy as well ...

LOL at the American family. how people can eat that kind of shit day in and day out boogles my mind. this country needs to take some lessons from the rest of the world.

It's interesting but kind of scewed. For example the Polish family spending only about $150 and a little more than 500 polish money is extremely wealthy in Poland. A family that spends over 500 in polish money would be like and American family spending about $300 a week on food.

Damn, I feel like I spend a lot of money...Food is so freaking expensive here. FOR ME ONLY I spend like 100-120 bucks every two weeks. Thats as much as some of those families spend in the same amount of time. Damn meat...
