        If you're needing something to munch on - it's not bad. If you are eating it for value - there really isn't any.

          Celery is a great way fiber, vitamin C & potassium. It is great if you are cutting, it has a few carbs. I eat it on non workout days with a lean protein.

            It also has negative calories, i.e. it takes more calories to digest it than it provides to the body. The effect is really small for it to be of any value by itself, but to the extent that it prevents you from snacking on less healthy stuff, it serves its purpose.

              That is what I was trying to say. If he is trying to loose weight and is eating the celery instead of cheating on some garbage food then fine. Other then that, it serves no purpose.

                      If you are low carbing. Which a lot of us do when cutting then it is a great snack, because it gives you something to munch on, plus most importantly it has fiber, which is usually something you miss out on when low carbing.

                      I also dip my celery in natty peanut butter.

                        instead of having this debate on the importance of celery, would you mind posting your diet?

                        sounds to me like you are on some kind of atkins diet or some other fad BS..

                        every food has some kind of benefit, celery is very low on the list.
