  • pre/post workout insulin spike

Been researching a bit, and looks like a 50/50 dextrose/maltodextrin with my protein drink would be a great pre-post workout with fast-acting carbs.

Is this the way to go? The rest of my carbs are slow/whole-grain carbs.

    Thanks.

I don't believe in the pre workout spike. As for post workout, look into Vitargo.

Im all for complex carbs pre-workout for energy and recovery purposes. You dont want too many simple sugars, as that will result in a crash. Post workout, a 50/50 blend would be ideal.

Just do this for postworkout bro - like YJ said though a good meal including oats/sweet potatoes/brown rice etc an hour to two before a workout is great (no "spike" but plenty of slow burning carbs for you to use while you exercise)...

          thanks bros.

yeah, i agree with what YJ says.

Only for post-workout I'm considering a nice insulin stimulant to bring glucose/amino acids to muscle cells.

That's what your 50/50 approach is for ...

Just wanted to confirm that's the way to go :) will keep complex carbs for pre-workout meals.
