measuring dextrose

how do you measure it out in grams? i have been using a scoop from protein. it says it holds 29.4 grams of protein powder but dextrose and whey have different textures and denseness. how close would they be? i havent really thought about it before now when i am going to try to keep an accurate count of calories.
