So lately I have been dying for italian food. Pizza chicken, spaghetti, anything. So I figured I'd go take a look in the pasta sauce section to see if I can find anything decently healthy. Well, I look at the back of all the labels, and sure enough, ingredient lists a mile long, and all of them with at least 13 grams of sugar per serving. The last one I looked at was Gia Russa marinara. The ingredients are all fresh. The list is as follows word for word:
Ingredients: Imported Italian plum tomatoes, imported italian olive oil, fresh onions, fresh garlic, fresh basil, fresh parsley, salt and spices.
Best of all, only 2 grams of sugar per 1/2 cup!! The fat content is 9 grams due to the olive oil, and sodium is just over 300 mg. So yay or nay on this sauce? It just would be nice to throw on the chicken every once in a while to keep my sanity. Thanks!
