  • Chris - I'm probably not the busiest person on this board but I find myself pretty da*n busy 8 days out of the week - most of my days are NOT able to be planned in advance either. However, my diet IS planned in advance no matter what the day may hold. If you have a cooler/refrigerator with meals already put together then you shouldn't be that bad off. Stuff does come up in life - happens when getting ready for a show too and I didn't quit school/quit working/give up my adult responsibilities - I just made sure if I got off on my diet by an hour here or there that I adjusted. Life isn't as black and white as you want to make it - if it was you wouldn't be having such a hard time with this - just deal with it and plan your DIET no matter if you work 24 hours a day or none at all...

I don't understand how to do this. For example, my day today:

Had a meeting about a 30 min drive from my house @ 7:15am

        Got up at 4:30, ran @ 5, finished at 5:45, ate @ 6 6:15ish, I wasn't paying too much attention as I took a shower.

Arrived at the meeting place @ 7am

Meeting ran two hours, so I ate my second meal at 9:30am.

Get a call, I know have a meeting @ 2. No forwarding other than the call.

I drink a shake beforehand at about 12:45. Get out of the meeting at 2:50 and have to go to an archive room to collect data. Now, I'm going back out to my car to grab my gym bag to bring in, because my lunch box is in it. Eat again at about 4. Then I eat again at 7. All the time in the basement of a company for which I am currently doing consulting work for. It is somewhat awkward and I have been told before, by my boss, to put the food away. However, I do it anyway.

Finally, I'm out the door with everything I need at 7:30pm. Got home from the gym just a few moments ago.

Now, I'll be heading to bed in about an hour.

So, now I'm at 7 meals. However, I have had to do things that I don't agree with.

Also, I there are days that I am in my office until 10-11pm. I just don't know what to do in that situations. I can't make the gym, but I've already consumed the excess calories.

        • Sounds like you're just fine - and stop saying you don't agree with sh*t you're doing - either own it or don't do it - complaining about something YOU are doing that is against your *beliefs/standards* is rediculous??? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but you seem to be talking out of both sides of your mouth - either you want to do what it takes or you don't - pretty simple if you ask me....

Of course don't for one second think I haven't been the same way as you - second guessing and waffling on my decisions/thought processes - just not on this particular matter so it's easier for me to point you in this direction and see what you can't......

My main beef with your entire thread is that you don't even give yourself the credit you deserve - stop trying to focus on the trees and see the damn forest Forest :sillyfu:

          • Thursday to Tuesday I had issues with my diet. I was in a wedding this weekend and I didn't have much free time. I ate well, but not scheduled, etc. It was pretty horrible, I gained some good fatty weight back. Then with Mondays debacle I was up all night working on a project. I tried jumping back in on my diet and it seems to be working out well.

Unless you went on a some 4 day binge with fatty & sugary foods, then you didn't gain "some good fatty weight back". Where do you get the idea that if you fall off your diet for a meal or a day that you've gained weight. Don't you get what this whole game is about??? It's about training your body to burn what you put in it...even the bad stuff. And, 9 times out of 10, people who have a cheat meal or even a cheat day if they aren't dieting for a comp, get a cheat meal

Secondly, you have the right to eat whenever and whereever you need to. Tell them you have low blood sugar that requires you to eat that often.

STOP worrying about everyone else, and focus on YOUR goals here. If you're doing consulting work, this company looked for your hire EXTERNALLY. They hired you to complete a project for them. And, if you're in some basement of an office building, then WTF does he care if and when you eat?

It's just really frustrating to continue to comment on basically the same issues, and it doesn't seem like you're learning anything. It seems like you look for the road blocks in your training, rather than finding a path around them.
