  • Boiled eggs blow, I need another way to get my eggs....

My reasons while boiled eggs blow...

    1) Cooking them takes like 20 minutes total. I try to do them at night, but every once in a while I can't, and its a hassle to cook them in the morning.

    2) Peeling them just sucks. Even though with baking soda it makes it a little easier, I still have a small ass sink in my apartment and everything is just messy as shit.

    3) Taking out the yolks is messy, plus the compactor in the kitchen sink doesnt work for shit. Basically, I either put them down the sink, and they smell up the apartment, or I walk outside, down the stairs, and throw them in the bushes. Neither is convenient.

    Ok so possible solutions...

    1) Drinking raw eggs and whites. I'm not really worried about salmonella. Chances are like 1 in 30,000 I think I've read. Plus I've had salmonella before. Having the shits and throwing up a little bit is something I can deal with once every 10 years with this kind of convenience. BUT... I also read that the human body can't digest near as much protein from a raw egg compared to that of a cooked egg. This is the real drawback for me... So much for option #1.

    2) Bulk egg whites, such as lana's egg whites. Downsides are high prices compared to eggs, and shipping would be a bitch. But definately an option I'm still considering.

    3) Liquid pasturized egg whites from the store, or maybe even that Eggology stuff that Ronnie uses. Would I be able to drink this stuff raw? Or would they still have the low absorbtion properties of raw eggs??

Opinions anyone? I know egg protein is the purest form, and I won't give it up, but I'm willing to sacrafice a little money to find something more convenient. Just figured I'd do some research first...

I started cooking my eggs. Takes 5 min to cook

I add a little EVOO to the pan so it doesn't stick, add a little red onions for flavor, and thats pretty much it...

good stuff, i recommend trying it out.

Well I have tried scrambling just the whites, which is annoying and messy. I might just go back to eating all whole eggs again. Never heard overwhelming proof that this is sooo bad.

Raw eggs are not digestible and thus useless.

Just scramble up some egg whites or hard boil a bunch at once time. I don't see the issue personally.

There isn't an issue. Just trying to find the most convenient way possible. Talked to my mom and she has an egg separater filter thing to separate raw egg whites. Going to swing by the parents place tomorrow and pick it up. Just going to start making scrambled egg whites every morning. 5 minutes with no peeling beats 20 minutes with peeling IMO.

Why aren't you just boiling a weeks worth at one time?

Well I've tried just scrambling whites, and I find it more convenient personally. The cooking takes 3 minutes, and I think they actually taste better.

Bouncer next time I actually do boil, I'll try that reboil idea. Just now read the thread.

yea, give it a try bro. the timing is important. make sure the water has a lot of ice also. the faster the eggs get cold, the easier they are to peel.

Acidopholis. Cultures of good bacteria that regulate digestion.

again, uncooked eggs cannot be used by the body. you are just throwing the egg whites away by doing that.

hmm, i didn't realize that. you sure? i would think because they are still liquid that the heat wasn't enough to make them digestible.
