  • Flank Steak (Easy Eating) (Simple Prep)

This really isn't a recipe but more of a good way to eat flank, very simple.

Cut the flank against the grain of the meat into very thin slices. Cook on high heat for 2 minutes or so. The flank will be tender and juicy. I like to mix it with my brown rice.

I like to dust flank steak with garlic powder, black pepper, and chipotle chile powder a couple of hours before I plan to eat it (then refrigerate, of course). Before it goes on the grill, I rub it with a little bit of grapeseed oil or extra light olive oil. Flank is probably my favorite lean cut of steak...much 'beefier' flavour than eye of round.

I do mine up by putting a little bit of olive oil, lemon juice, & garlic in a little dish, and then brushing it on the meat.

Most of the time when I have flank steak it is too chewy. I haven't tried cooking it myself, because I always thought it was chewy. I guess when I have had it that it was overcooked.
