  • in between lifting and cardio

quick question...on monday/wed/fri/sat i lift in the morning and then do cardio an hour later..usually it is ok but today i drained for cardio and realize there has to be a way to get some energy. I usually eat a banana for a quick simple sugar spike but its not worth it.i thought about protein shake but it leaves my stomach starving for real food...i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to eat for that hour in between..i also dont have access to a kitchen for this time so it has to be something portable and doesnt have to be warmed up...thanks for any and all suggestions

Little oatmeal with Flaxseed oil, Protien can be mixed in.

can you not do the cardio immediately after training? if it has to be an hour, i would just have my PWO shake right after i trained.

i cant do it immediately after but sometimes its 30 minutes after,it just depends on the day and what meetings i have...i try a protein shake but i feel like i am running on fumes and cant push myself as hard...i guess maybe that is how its suppose to be..

Whats in your protein shake? Just Protein?

After I lift I have protein, dextrose and maltodextrin. Sometimes when my pre workout meal was a little too early I drink it throughout my workout. Provides plenty of energy and the carbs are good immediately after your workout.

Also, if you're splitting them up anyway, I would put my lifting and cardio as far apart as you can.
